Is there an official german support and language?

Hi!

Actually I'm using phpBB3 for my board.

But XenForo sounds pretty good and I'm thinking about a software exchange. But I prefer an support board in my native language: german. Is there any official german support-board like www.phpbb.de or www.vbulletin-germany.com?

In addition i'd like to use a german language pack, when i've paid 140$. But i won't use only 3rd partie packs created by fans, where i can't be sure that they keep them up to date all the license time for me XenForo Board.

Regards

You spent $140 on a "English" piece of software. ;)
I know. But i'm used to have a german UI in my board. phpBB3 is for free and i'll can get easy a support board and language pack. For a price of 140$ (=99€) i'm just expecting more than only one available language and no german-support from the developers. Although the board-software is great, but thats a big disadvantage from XenForo. :(

@Brogan: Thanks for the info. But it is imho disappointing.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Kier and Mike speak German fluently, if at all. How could they possibly support German language?

That point is for you. :D

Should not be that impossible to create a german-support-forum with guys who know xenforo and speak both languages. But maybe there is already a good connection between http://www.xendach.de/ and the xenforo developers, then you could build a partnership or something, to make it more official. Could be better for the sale to austria and germany, i think.

Xenforo is new and a small team. Am sure "in time" many language packs will be supported.. but to just buy one and expect one without reading if there is one! is hmm wrong. Now the reason I said "expect" was from your wording on the first post.

It costs me quite an effort to buy XenForo, more then anyway, when it doesn't have a german-language out of the box. Thats all. ;)

And i know it is a small team, but i hoped, that there are more languages then one.

I'm sure all non-English speakers would also like official support and language packs in their languages too.

At this point in time though, it's an unrealistic expectation.

Is there any forum software that has "official" German language support? As far as I know all the language packs are created via community effort. Some localizations adhere to stricter standards than others but if you are concerned you can always join the localization effort yourself.

In my opinion vBulletin-Germany seems to be a official german-support-website. phpbb.de is from the german-community but also with core-developers from phpbb.com.

I think there is at least one forum software with an official german language support: vbulletin. Sure it is not the same company selling it (i mean its not IB) but an official community seeling it to german speakers.

But I think now I am pff topic :P

Also a german admin-demo?

Edit: k, found it.

But i would prefer an official one, when i've to spend 140$ for a piece software. ;)

Sry but its easier in german again:)
Crizzo....
