XF 2.0 Is there a way to prevent users from hiding status?

I'm not fond of users being able to hide their online status when at the site. Any way to turn this off so they can't do it?

There is no option to do that.

A workaround would be to remove references to changing the online status visibility.
You would then have to reset any who have changed it via a query.

There is a addon for XF1 that did this, but orgasmic been updated to XF2.

sorry, I had to quote you before you could correct what had to be an autocorrect in the first place!!

My last two forums were Xenforo 1.x and I'm pretty sure we had that change in there.

Can't I just hide the box in the user area by commenting out the line in the CSS file? or something like that, i scare myself sometimes. lol

No, XF1 did not have that ability either, you would have had to remove the code from three templates, account_privacy, account_preferences and navigation_visitor_tab.

Perhaps the templates are the same in XF2

Can't you just un-tick that option from the member's panel in the ACP?

You can only set the default status at registration time.

My paid add-on, User Essentials, supports permission-based access to being able to hide visibility (and a large number of other bits)
