XF 1.0 Is there a way replied-to image attachments can show as images?

I'm looking for a way so that if someone posts an image as an attachment, and someone else replies to it, that it will show up in the reply as the image and not as

[attachment 5424]

or whatever it shows up as currently. Is this possible? We currently run Xenforo 1.0.4.

This is the relevant template:

Admin CP -> Appearance -> Templates -> bb_code_tag_attach

But foreign attachments like that don't have their full records available to this template. An addon is required to inline foreign attachments like you want.

Hmmm ok. I am pretty good at reading and editing code myself, but I am not technically inclined enough to write it from scratch. So you are saying it is not possible to do through a template modification? Is there an addon already produced or should I create a thread in the addon request forum?
