XF 2.0 Is it possible to make proxied images behave like normal ones when clicked

Right now, a proxied image when viewed or copying it's link location copies the proxy link.

Is it feasible for XenForo to add an option, or for an addon to modify the behaviour via js so that copying an image link or opening tries to open the original URL instead of the proxied one?
