    With xf's search engine.

I'm assuming it is not, not without ease.

Does the XF search add on make the content searchable? I need the content searchable as well.

So if we use page nodes to put articles on and use that as a CMS, it will never show up in a search?

    Correct.

I'm thinking about using Google custom search for my forum (still brainstorming); I'm also using the Pages system. One nice thing, if you disable xF's search system the 'find member' search on the Members page still works.
