XF 1.0 IP address or host name of post

In the "post" template, {$post.ip_id} just seems to be an index into the database. Is there anyway to access the actual content IP (either address or host name) of the post at that point?

The actual IP is not available to that template. An addon is required to make it available. Normally you have to click the IP link to view the IP (which is a separate request).
