reading a couple stories on this topic, it seems this is really crazy now.

what is your opinion to this? Should be just ignore the spammers and fake user-profiles at our forums ? Well, I assume a huge percentage of Facebook-profiles are fake as well and also fraudsters ?
500 million users, yeah but nearly everyone has 2 or 3 accounts :D

I fight them constantly. It is non-ending. I will continue to fight against it.

The only time you fight a spammer is free forum solutions, and vBulletin. With xenforo, I only had to deal with only one spammer, of its entire lifetime.

hahah....I was thinking: "Kier, what did you do to xenforo's technology!?"

That is not always true. I have had manufacturers come into my forum and pretend to be customers of that product. They will interact with members and act like regular members. One of them will eventually mention a product then slowly the others will post that they have one and talk about how much they like it. When others post they answer questions acting as an owner. Frequently they make a mistake and I can trace them back to the manufacturer.

One I suspected a person and could not find anything online to confirm what I suspected. I figured out the persons real name and called the company and asked for this person, I got transfered right to him. He happened to be the sales manager. Once I caught one of them it was easier to catch the rest of the group.

I get stuff like this all the time.

When I say spammers, I meant bots that spam with links to their "favorite" links.

Your situation seems different to me.
