XF 2.1 Installation conundrum

I have just installed Xenforo in the following way: Public/community/

So now my URL is mywebsite.online/community/

I want my forum to be the home page with the URL: mywebsite.online

My conundrum is in addition to the forum I would like a blog/product pages so I will most likely add WordPress to do that. I don't see any real solutions for pages in Xenforo. I am happy to have WordPress in its own folder eg public/WordPress.

Could I use Filezilla to transfer all the content files for Xenforo into public and adjust the URLs in admin. The installation is fresh no nodes or forums added yet.

Consider this post as me thinking out aloud.

Any suggestions.

copy the files to base folder first. and then change the url in xenforo settings from inside folder. this alone should be enough to the best of my knowledge. rename the community folder. check everything. delete community folder after testing.

If you have cPanel, it's actually easier/faster to do this with File Manager.
