How slow? You mention convert, are you talking about importing from another software? If so this process generally does take quite a bit of time to import large boards.

I use the normal import that comes with a copy of XF ,but it takes a long time in the conversion

Forum of vBulletin To XenForo
How big is the forum you're importing, and how long is "a long time"? Importing a large site from vBulletin to XenForo does take several hours with the default importer. If it's large I'd suggest having a look at @Slavik's big board importer, we've used it for a couple of 10m+ post boards and it finishes in much less time than the default importer does. The last import we did for an 11 million post forum took about 3 hours for the script to run on their hardware (excluding cache rebuilds after importing)
