XF 1.2 index.php taking alot of CPU

I've recently noticed my server randomly get's super high CPU loads and when I look at the process there always multiple: public_html/index.php with very high CPU% (10-40).

Any idea what can be causing this?

I do have xenPorta but this hasn't been a problem in the past...atleast I haven't noticed it. My forum recently has picked up abit more traffic but I feel like this is still caused by some other reason. Maybe from spambots?

index.php is the entry point for every page on the forum.

More information is needed. Ideally you should consult with your host or server admin to better determine the nature of the load.

Addons can cause increased load per page. Or it could be increased traffic to your forum causing a legitimate spike in load.
