XF 2.2 Importing VB forum.

I have had a couple of people trying to register on the forum whilst I have been setting it up for importing from VBulletin 3.8 to go live.
I want the forum import to be a clean import with matching id's so I am starting again but it takes a few hours to do the import.

I have no idea how they got the address, but would turning of registration be ok whilst importing?

Close the forum completely so no-one can register, log in, post, etc.

Absolutely you should put it in read only no registration mode while importing - with a big message telling people when you will be open again and a link to a contact form or at least email. Then you can contact anyone who tried to join.

forums should always be closed during big data migrations and upgrades.
