seems that frequently when a member links to an image, the image doesnt render, and instead there appears {IMG}. i can drag this tag to the url bar and it loads the image. then if i hit back the image will load in the page. initially i thought this was something with my browser, but others have mentioned it recently... i had hoped it was due to some sort of anti-hotlinking action on the part of the remote host, but now im not so sure...

so is this happening to anybody else here?

That would be my guess. Your description of the problem is consistent with anti-hotlinking.

By dragging the image to your browser address bar, you are loading it directly (i.e. not hotlinking) so the image displays.

Then when clicking back your browser is displaying the cached image.
