Hi,
XF1.5.21. I am running some very photo heavy communities. Many images per day, big file sizes which need to be reduced. Around 20.000-30.000 members each.
Very good image quality is required, because these are all photographers. Some reduce their images themselves to the maximum size first on thier PC and upload them then, some don't and upload the original image untouched directly into the thread (i.e. shot on a smartphone)
In the ACP/attachment options, I have the two alternatives to select PHP-GD and Image Magick to to the job. In the past; i always used PHP-GD. But technically, I could also use Image Magick. It is installed on my server and it works. Just tested that with one forum.
My questions are:
1. What are the pro and cons of each other, if you compare them?
2. In which situation I should rather use GD, in which I should rather use Image Magick?
