Ireland is, I believe, a republic. The rest are constitutional monarchies and share the British monarch.

People often get confused between England and saying the UK. What comes under each. Northern Ireland comes under UK, but Republic of Ireland doesn't.

Yep, quite aware of that and it was addressed in subsequent posts. I am an "anglophile" and grew up with a Scottish friend (immigrated to Canada when he was 5) so am quite aware that UK encompasses, effectively, four regions/countries (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) but not everyone over here seems quite so aware of the reality there. Though I think the whole Scottish independence thing helped by pointing out that Scotland <> England but does = Britain/UK.
