I've had new thread alerts from @mjda and @Old Nick however I'm not following the nodes they're posted in, nor am I following the users.

Before I go bug report am I being stupid somewhere?

Yeah, it was just split from a thread you were watching.

Can I suggest we rephrase the alert to show that it's split? Just because it threw me and now someone else.. Might make sense.

Yeah, it was just split from a thread you were watching.

If that action creates anomolous notifications, it smells a bit buggy.

The notification was created when the user replied to the thread you were watching, but the text of the notification changed when it was split into a new thread.

But point taken that it isn’t obvious what happened and could be made less confusing.
