So, I'm doing a holiday job and my job is to destoy Hard Drives.

You'd think they're all old hard drives of 20-80GB, but they're not :(

I have to crush Hard Drives which were made in 2010 of 250-2000GB.
I even had to crush some SSD's...

In total, it's 35TB of data I crushed :p
Worth a total of 6 000 euros!

Make sure to take all the magnets out to make one giant supermagnet of doom!

Haha, yeah, got some of them, but decided that it was not worth the time :P
Once the disk itself broke into pieces it wasn't real safe to go take the magnet too, as it's sharp as hell!

And how'd ya go about doing that, if I may ask?
Take a hammer to them, run them over, put them in a kitchen trash compactor :D ???

I wanted to do that, but there are those stupid safety regulations..
I use a hydrolic press, which, well, snaps the disk right in the middle :)

Ah, so an industrial strength trash compactor. (y)

I ask because I have a couple of disks I'd like to safely dispose of.

Using a hammer till the disk within the disk is broken will be just as effective.
It just has to look professional here because we're paid to dispose them ;)
