I am looking for a spam domain list ?

I think it's a largely pointless exercise - there are so many domain extensions now that spammers will simply create a new domain, use it for a while and then discard it.

Even with forum registrations now I'm seeing a bunch of random domains being used in email addresses from spammers.

You're better off relying on other mechanisms to detect and prevent spam.

I have been banning discardable email domains and that worked well for a while to the point that I hardly had any spammer registrations in the approval queue but now they're back with legit email domains but with multi dot user names, like len.5.otp.kalo.85@gmail.com and I am looking for a way to stop these from registering.

I wonder if there might be a way to use Custom User fields to stop spambots. We are a photography forum and I have user fields for camera and lenses that show during registration. They're optional but spambots always fill in the two camera fields and with mostly the same nonsense. So if I could use these phrases somehow as a filter to prevent them from registering in the first place that would be great. But not sure how to do that.

If you've got dropdowns for things like camera kit you request a registration - you can pop in a made up camera for the first one. Odds are the bots will just pick the first item from the list. You might get the odd enquiry from curious members, but small price to pay. That approach has worked fairly well on a few forums for me over the years - as another data point at least to weed out the bots.

Have you tried Ozzmodz login spaminator add-on? It works great for me. I never have a problem with spammer registrations. I do not use any forum of captcha for registration.

Looking at the "spaminator" log on my forum, this add-on has blocked 25+ attempted spam registrations in the past 24 hours....and hundreds over the past 12 months.

Additionally, I use the Geoblock registration add-on by Simon Hample which allows me to block all access from certain "problem" countries such as Russia, China, and a few others....who do not need any access to my forum.

Using these two add-ons, I never have a spam registration.

I use a required custom user field that requires a zip code or if not from the US any (5-4) digits using Regex to validate. The one thing I do not do is give an example. The explanation is text based so a bot can't see an example.
Interesting. That might work for me too. I have to look which regex to use though. Not familiar with the code. But I did a search, found something by Paul that could work. Will try that. Thanks!

Not bad. That could be an option too. Thanks!

No, I haven't. I'll look into that too. Thank you!
