Hypothetical question about how much it would cost to move a series of forums to XenForo..

This is just a hypothetical that may inform some future business dealings of mine but does anyone want to guess how much it would cost a company to switch from whatever forum software they are using to XF?

It’s a network of sports forums with maybe a couple dozen fan bases that have hundreds to maybe thousands of users and it’s the most dogshit forum software known to man. Here is an example forum:


My question is, can anyone guess how expensive it would be to migrate to XF? I know there are a ton of variables, but just a guess. It would help.

PS. If you can tell me anything/know anything about what forum software they are currently using, I would be fascinated to know. It is the biggest piece of **** forum I’ve ever had to use.

The only variable I can think of is whether or not the existing software is included in the xenForo importer (which is included with the xF licence). So the cost would be the cost of a xF licence.

If not then get a quote from a developer, although it may be possible to just do the import in two stages if there is an importer to another software which can be directly imported to xenForo.

The reason I asked this was because I know some people at the top of this company and can maybe propose to them that they move over to XF. I was wondering why they hadn’t already but was thinking it must costs thousands and thousands of dollars to do this. They clearly paid some IT guys to develop a search function for their custom built forum and its dogshit. That couldn’t have been cheaper.

I was just trying to get an idea of why they’d stick with that forum when it can’t be all that costly given what they are already spending so that’s why I asked if there’s some unknown fees I’m not thinking of.
