How to show time of post?

The date a post was made (at the bottom of a post block) currently shows the date - and will only show the time of the post if you hover your mouse over it.

How do I display the time of the post as well?

It shows the time 24 hours after the post was made.

Until then it's relative.

My users have also picked up on this, sometimes it will display the time other times it will not, so there is some inconsistent behaviour somewhere.

It shows as relative for 24 hours, then displays the time stamp, then after a week just the date.

Is there a way to extend this or to stop it happening?

Alternatively, since the full date/time info is there (and used for the hover tooltip) - can it be used in the message template?

It's part of this function in the post template: <xen:datetime time="$post.post_date" />

So it will require editing that.
