XF 2.3 How to draw attention to important posts? (pinned?)

My forum deals with sports and a team of interest is going to be hiring a new coach. This thread will be tons and tons of posts where people are arguing about things and other people trying to find updates about the search.

Is there a way I can in some way draw attention to posts that contain actual info? Filter them to the first post of the thread so people could just look at that first post?

Add-ons?

You can pin or feature that thread. You can also set them as global threads so they will get more attention. You can also pin the first post of a thread. That said making threads global and pinning first posts can't be done with the out of the box features of XenForo. It will require custom add-ons. You can search the Resource manager if any such add-ons already exists.

Apologies if I was unclear but I was referring to highlighting posts only. I was hoping there was a way to let users scan threads for important information instead of pages and pages of people are arguing about nothing. So that they could quickly get the important info from a thread instead of seeing people bicker at each other.

The best way to go about this imho is to pin the important posts in a thread and have the posts within that thread be sorted out based on pinned/important posts.

To illustrate what I mean have a look at my add-on below. It sorts posts based on several criteria. But in your case it can be to sort only based on important posts, which can be set as such by the admin and staff.

• post highlighter by wutime
• threadmarks by xon
