XF 2.1 How to create a selectbox with all nodes?

Hi,
I want an html selectbox with all nodes, to select a node id from all available/visible nodes from root.

Code: 
\XF\Option\Forum::renderSelect
seems to do something like that, but I can't find out how to get it working --, especially I don't know how to pass the attribs correctly --

Can you help out please?
