How to best determine requirements when selecting 'best' server?

I had a number of issues. My javascript/data was served on a cookie-less domain that was not transferred during the migration. I pulled that from my configuration and it's flying. I cannot believe this is going to go faster. Not sure how that's possible. :)

APC is definately the way to go.

Any reason for your choice of litespeed over nginx or cherokee?
 
Looks like the move broke Slavik's Elasticsearch setup. :unsure: I don't have a good feeling about them being able to set this up.
 
Yeah, Elasticsearch runs as another process on the machine as I understand it, so that's something that needs to be setup separately.
I also agree with APC.
The reason everything is running faster is that you are on a much newer hardware setup with a far better CPU and SSDs. :)
