Replies specifically? Pretty sure that will require an add-on.
As for the editor? It can probably be done using CSS and the .message-body designator.
I know on the old editor there used to be a discussion thread (can't find it now) about it. I had a hand holding a quill pen that showed up in every post on the lower right side in an opaque configuration.

According to his linked picture he means every reply in a message. Then the CSS Styling will do.
