When I say unique, I mean unique IP address + unique email + unique username (since some cycle through these)

These bots still might not be unique (since some change all 3) but it gives an idea.

I get about 25 uniques from StopCountrySpam (before they hit the registration page, but I only block 2 countries) + 125 (from FoolBotHoneyPot + CustomImgCaptcha combined) per day... and this is a brand free site, so I imagine most get hit a lot more (of course none get through)

so ~ 150 - 200

If I counted every non-unique IP address/email/username, I guess this would be well over the thousands!

No idea how many attempts, but my Q+A haven't let one through yet.

I'm sorry to say they will, QA is very much on it's way out
If you don't have any plugin that logs this kind of data (all 3 above do), there is always the access logs (but that would be a headache to go through)

I know XenUtiles logs this data, and I'm pretty sure StopForumSpam logs this data too... so I guess those users and the users that use any of the 3 above are the people I'm asking

I get more than 3000 attempt pers day

Them cyber bots seem to love me. And it is almost more than 1/2 of them are using v6 IP addresses. This is something XenForo really does need to make a top priority.

and that's unique, ouch...
at some point these bots must be having noticeable an impact server resources
I didn't check each ip but they are unique username and emails.
We're on a relatively small host and I've not noticed any issues.
We also block a bunch of stuff via the htaccess file, so some aren't even seeing the site.

ps.. my 500 may have been off, I've blocked 2500 attempts since saturday, so closer to 650 a day.

I'm getting about 50. They seem to cycle through 5 attempts each, changing either Username and or E-Mail per IP address attempt from what I can see in the failed attempts log.

What did you do to upset them. Sorry...
Are you branded with a high PR / forum is quite old?

I'm not exactly sure I understand your 2nd question....

However I assume it has to do with our web site name. Socially Uncensored

The word uncensored kind of brings a lot of attention, namely porn spam or spam bots that want to post those "download X here" type links.

Man... that's hard core ;) :p ... "why you think the net was born" ... "grab your ... and double click" ... some fantastic quotes there

I meant branded (have "Forum software by XenForo™ ©2010-2012 XenForo Ltd." / a XenForo alternative) at the bottom.
Leaching this out from a Google crawl is often how many linklist are created for XRumer

And a a high Google Page rank => link building target... if only they weren't nofollow...
Selling link list of high PR sites is quite common.... With great Power PR comes great Responsibility Spam attempts

But "uncensored" could be one of the reasons.
