Why does the page have to blank ?
When someone is looking at a blank screen ... TIME goes SLOWER.

Loaded very quickly for me. Ran a YSlow/Google Page Speed audit on it for the fun of it: http://gtmetrix.com/reports/p8ntballer-forums.com/BN77JR4h. Lots of things that could still be tweaked if you feel like it. ETags, browser caching (where possible), CSS sprites, and more. 
I'd also look into CloudFlare. Takes care of minification & caching, works as CDN, and is generally awesome. Should be able to speed things up more even without it though.

it takes 1-2 seconds to load here on a 50/10 connection. my system is a core i-3 3.0 8 gigs of ram and win7 x64. once the site starts loading it's instant but it takes a sec or so to get going.

When testing out the latest vB5 version on vB.com I keep being reminded about how a BLANK screen makes time feel longer.
I remembered this thread.
I see the same blanking on p8ntballer-forums.com except not as long.
I remember hearing this was related to some software that speeds things up.
Anyone know ?
