How do I set up a private support area

I've imported my vB4 database into a local installation to make sure I can get everything working before going live.
I've got a 'contact admin' section which, under VB was private so that users (and guests) could start a thread that was only visible by the thread starter and the Admin/moderator groups.

How do I achieve this in XF? I know it's probably a lot simpler than I expect...

That's not currently possible in XenForo.

It has been suggested though.
