XF 2.2 how do I remove bot/guests from displaying in Who's On-line?

My forum is private (member's only for all content), but I'm still seeing in Who's Online stuff like a blank "?" avatar and "Viewing forum...", then an error icon. How can I completely remove this, but keep member activity (obviously)? Some of my members are concerned about privacy and I have to keep explaining to them those are bots/guests.
