XF 1.4 How do I narrow and de-stack the 'new posts' tabs in search results for mobile view?

I wasn't really sure how to phrase the question / title - but now we have new profile posts and new media content, some mobile users are seeing the three content tabs extend to the full width of the page and stack on top of each other - like this:



This means no content is visible without scrolling, yet it does appear that there is room for the tabs to go side-by-side without any problem:



Is there a way I can stop this happening and only stack them in portrait mode?
