XF 1.5 How do I make a theme appear only to my account?

I want to do some tests on the new theme that I purchased but I only want it to appear on my account so that my members don't get to see the tests that I'll do.

When you install your new theme, ensure that it isn't user selectable (untick the option in Styles). As an admin, you will be able to change to this theme on the front end (as all themes are always available to you) but users will not see it.
