XF 1.2 How do I Install a Addon

Yes please if you can, do you have skype?

Having someone install it for you doesn't teach you how to do it yourself. What happens when you want to install another Add-on? EDIT: Realized you were talking about XF Install not the Add-on.

Link me the resource you are trying to install so I can DL it for demonstration purposes. I do have Skype, you can find me under the username EQAddiction.

Unfortunately, it's been over 20 minutes and I haven't seen a response from you. I have to get ready for work so I'm afraid I won't have the time to show you how to do anything today. Good luck.

Wait so do I upload the "UPLOAD" folder or the stuff inside of it?

I answered this already. You upload what is inside the upload folder:

Hehe.

So here we go, firstly, Extract your Zip file if you haven't done that already. Then connect to your site via FTP. In the Add-on files that you just extracted, open the "upload" folder to reveal the folders inside of it (usually something like Library and JS or whatever. Simply upload these folders into your forum directory... ie... if your forum is located at www.yoursite.com/forum then upload them into the /forum directory. If it's www.yoursite.com/community then upload them to the /community directory.

Once you uploaded them, open up your forum and go to your ACP (Admin Control Panel) and go to "List Add-ons". At the top right click "Install Add-on" and choose the XML file that your Add-on came with.

If you need further help, I can literally show you how to do it.
I did this. I took the upload folder and draged and dropped the library folder into my FTP client. Then i went to my admin control panel and listed all the add-ons and don't see that add on.

That's because you haven't installed it, you've only uploaded the files. You've missed the step with the XML file.

Read the instructions in my first post again: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/how-do-i-install-a-addon.56262/#post-599646

Both of these clearly show what you need to do, including the step you've missed with the XML file. Follow the instructions to complete the installation of the add-on, it's not hard really.

Okay I did those steps and uploaded the XML file but when I click Install add on I got a error message, http://puu.sh/3RdJh.png

Please don't start another thread for the same problem. Threads merged.

Try installing the .xml file from your computer rather than the server.

Brogan means that when you click on Install Add-on in the Admin Control Panel, use the Install from uploaded file option and upload the XML file from your computer.

You don't put anything in Install File from Server!!!! That's for putting the path to the XML file if you are using one from your server. You are not. You're just uploading an XML file as per my last post, so leave that blank.
I didn't i just uploaded the file and got that error I didnt put a name

Yes you did, you posted this screenshot showing you did this in your previous post http://puu.sh/3Rf1f.png

The error message means you haven't uploaded the files correctly, so you need to do that again.

Give me ACP access and the .xml files and I will do it for you.
He won't learn if he doesn't do it himself, even if it is the easier option right now...
