How do I add a "Homepage" on my forum site

Hi,

My sincere apologies if I sounded dumb as it's simply because I am totally brand new on setting up a forum.

My plan is to set up a forum site that is somewhat similar to Xenforo's website format i.e. I would like to have a "Home tab" that provides some brief details of my forum and and follow by another "Forum tab" that would bring the user to my forum.

I am about to sign up my hosting and usually, these hosting companies will provide Content Management Systems such as Wordpress, Joomla etc for me to use. I have used Wordpress before but I have never done a forum on Wordpress powered site before, not to mentioned to integrate Xenforo into the Wordpress powered site.

At such, would be grateful if any kind souls could provide me a pointer or 2 on what do I need to do to have that "Home Tab" on my forum site.

There are various ways of doing it.
The simplest is to have a static page and manually created content.

Some people use WordPress and a bridge to XF.

Alternatively, you can use a page node and simple add-on - https://xenforo.com/community/resources/cta-home-page.5029/

Or a comprehensive portal add-on.

You can integrate a fully custom page into XenForo, yes.

Example: https://www.apantic.com - raw HTML/PHP implemented within XenForo

It requires basic custom development and I may release ours for you (free) if this is what you're looking for. It's pretty basic.
