I want to delete the External Purchase link part, only the price part remains.

See what you are talking about... I think the simple fact is you (for price) have to link to an actual resource as that is the only one configured to actually accept monetary input with it.
I'm sure this could be extended by an add-on (and may have been, you can search the resources for that function). If you want it built in, I would recommend making a suggestion.
