XF 2.2 How can I disable Category node name links that go nowhere?

I have several categories, and nodes and sub-nodes within those categories. When you click the category name it simply refreshes and returns to the forum view instead of taking you to a page that has the sub-nodes listed on them. Can I disable the links, so the categories are just the category names instead of links that go nowhere when clicked? members of my site are reporting this as a bug.

If the categories are not set as pages, the URLs act as anchors.

You would need to edit the template to remove that functionality.

Thanks for your reply. The page template is confusing because you have to start from scratch with each page, and code in widgets, etc., when the categories option is meant to work with node categories automatically. Can you tell me which template to edit and which code to change?
