Help on forum - uploading teacher/education

Hello everyone,

A complete virgin here, so knowledge of forums is very minimal.

I have built a forum for teachers et al., (www.theteachersforum.uk), it is pretty inactive at the moment, so this year, I have decided to try and give it a push and make this forum work! What I would like to know is this:

--is there a plugin/or can it be built, into the forum platform whereby it allows teachers to upload their teaching resource files (e.g. PowerPoint, word doc, pdf etc) onto the forum.
--the uploading facility of resources, needs to allow the file to be placed in a particular category and sub-category e.g. "Psychology" ; "Cognitive Psychology"
-- A "search" feature for find a resource e.g. "King Lear"

If it is possible, would anyone recommend anyone here or themselves that would like to take this on?

Once again, I apologies for my rudimentary message - but I hope it will make some sense.

Resource manager - part of the xenforo addons will have this functionality

Hi Nick

Not 100% sure where it should live really. Its not really a pre sales as you have already bought the forum , but it is pre sales for the resource manager for instance ..
The mods will move it if needed.

Hello Brogan - thank you for the info. Is there an example of a forum that uses RM? Can the main categories have, sub-categories within them e.g. Psychology, then cognitive psychology?
