Hello, Thank-You for viewing this thread, I am very, Very interested in buying this license but need some questions answered to help me make up my mind if i would like to continue with the purchase or not!

Once i buy this item will the following add-ons be available:

Is the forum able to change style and color?
Can I add staff badges, tags, trophies, awards and name colors to registered users profiles?
Will i be able to add items and pages to the menu bar?

Once Again Thanks Very Much For Reading And I Hope To Hear From You Soon

Im still confused, The best i can explain this will be the following

Will this forum be able to run without a hosting package, Im not linking the sites together im just going to add to Xenforo forum URL to my website?
You HAVE to have a hosting package of some type to run the script. Apparently you already do so it's a fairly simple matter of installing it in a subdirectory of your current site and then setting it up and using a hyperlink to it in the menu of your root site - unless you are setting it up on a separate domain.

Okay, I have made my mind up and decide to purchase this software tho i need a few questions answered! Im not spending just over £100 in UK currency to be wasted if i dont know what im doing.

I have a web hosting agreement and account with 1and1.com this is powered by WordPress
All i want this for would be to add a clean and decent forum software to my site

Whats my next steps

@Brogan maybe you can help

If you're from the UK, you'll be paying VAT (@ 20%) as well, bringing the cost to some £120. Not a massive difference but worth pointing out.

Again, if you're not sure what you're doing, ask someone in the third party services forum to assist with setup.

If you want to give it a shot, all you need is a decent web host. You can then follow some online tutorials to assist. There's also the XF manual (https://xenforo.com/help/installation/) that can assist with installation. It's a fairly simple process, to be honest. If you really want to be sure you can do it, buy a web hosting package somewhere and install some free forum script with similar requirements (MyBB 2.0 perhaps). Some web hosts will install the software for you, too, especially if you choose one from this forum (the ones that specialise in XenForo installations).

I'm guessing that you have one of the Managed Wordpress hosting plans with 1&1?

If so, I don't believe you can install anything yourself on that plan. You would need another one of their hosting plans:

https://www.1and1.co.uk/hosting-linux

or hosting with another provider.

If you really want XenForo but want to keep your existing Wordpress site, you would need to talk to 1&1 to see if you can get a hosting plan where you can install stuff yourself but you could keep the Wordpress site (though chances are if you can you would have to manage that yourself rather than 1&1 manage it).

or hosting with another provider.

My experience with 1 & 1 would suggest this is the best option. However moving away from the was not the best experience as they seem to not want to co-operate at all with the new host i was migrating.

I moved from their hosted wordpress, and from what I recall it's possible, as they give you an export database function.

Having xenforo on the same domain as a wordpress site is fine, but one or the other would need to be in a subdirectory, I don't believe it is possible to (easily) have both in the root of the domain. I've read there is maybe a way that wordpress can work without it's index.php, but not something I'd recommend to anyone with little knowledge of wordpress/php.

I'd recommend to the OP to get at least some basic understanding of Wordpress, mysql - I think there are quite a few local Wordpress and basic IT courses around - well worth going on one if you want to avoid paying someone to install and continue maintaining WP and XF for you.
