Not wonderful it has to be said.

Looking at getdaily/getnew, it went from 33 to 53 though it doesn't seem to have hit the performance.

You have to remember that by default, vB4 queries the avatars (and other unused stuff) *anyway* in getdaily / getnew so you get over 100 queries on a stock vB4! I had put some fixes in that Andreas wrote to take all that out. So I just put the avatar bit back in. Meaning I still have less than half the queries a stock vB4 has on that page.

Basically I have one extra query per thread shown. Not ideal, but no other way if you want it to work.

24 hours later and it's running well, the extra queries don't seem to be too heavy.

Initially I did have a stylised coloured thick border round them (similar to here but not as thick and fully opaque). But it seemed to annoy people so I've had to change to a boring thin grey border.

However the avatar thumbnail and thread starter's details are shamelessly nicked from the brilliant XF UI.

Although, the site I'm developing for is not a forum software, I am stealing a few elements. I'm attempting to make the pagination system the same in my site, to an extend. I'd prefer to have something awesome, then what it is now.
