Has anyone successfully authed an XMPP server from XenForo?

I see a lot of ejabberd extensions for authing from existing web apps like Django, Wordpress, phpBB, etc. Has anyone managed to get an XMPP server to auth from XenForo?

I'm thinking about switching from IRC to a self-hosted XMPP server and it would be nice to have it integrate with XenForo user accounts without having to mirror accounts on the XMPP server.
