Hello,

I'm trying to make new registrants to have certain permissions and once they reached x amount of posts they automatically be moved to a new group. I looked at group promote feature but it's not working

User group promotions to do not move members to a new user group, they add them to user groups as secondary groups.

The primary user group will remain as the Registered user group.

Is there anyway to have that set up like that?

No, it would require custom development and it's not the way the system has been designed to work.

This is how the permissions work on XenForo.

So you set up the Registered group with the minimum permissions that you want newly registered users to have. You then set up a secondary user group with the additional permissions you require (and only these, no need to replicate permissions from the Registered group) and use a user group promotion to promote users to the secondary user group.
