Grid layout of radio buttons?

I have an array of categories, and these categories contain items.

These items need to be listed as radiobuttons on a page, underneath the category name.

This is in the frontend.

How could I go about doing this? My head is starting to ache from the html and css trial and error. I hate html and css, it makes absolutely no obvious sense.

A very rough example, obviously it would take up the full page width and be in the content area...
