Where do I place the code for verification on Google webmaster tools?

1. Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site's home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.

<meta name="google-site-verification" content="MYCODE" />

You may find it easier to verify using this option instead:
  • Upload an HTML file with the name you specify to your server. To use this method, you must be able to upload new files to your server.
Saves having an(other) edit in the PAGE_CONTAINER template.

Even easier is just make a DNS TXT entry for your site. :)
That way, if heaven forbid, you ever have to re-install everything on your site you don't have to recreate that file (or if you change forum software).

It will not let me verify due to my site being www.mysite.com/community (it will work like this) but shouldn't i be able to use www.mysite.com? without the community?
