XF 1.2 Google Webfonts

I'm trying to change the main font to a google webfont.

I've tried adding the link in the header template, then I tried the import and the javascript in the page_container_js_head template. The main text has been set to be the Google webfont. It's not working though - any suggestions why this might be?
