Ad position in <head>
The default XF Ad positions don't include a " section"-position, which is quite a common case for e.g. AdSense ads along with some other scripts. By installing this addon such an ad position is added 👍

Not sure that's what he's talking about. I think it seeks to integrate the basic AdSense script which must be placed between the <head> tags of any site wishing to serve this type of ad.

Iirc Google removed the code that you needed to place in head section for autoads. So I am confused as well.

should work.
it adds a new ad position that you can access from the advertisement manage where you can enter the code that you want appear in head section of all pages.
usually you have to edit page_container template or some other template (in case of ui.x). saves you the hassle of manually editing the template.

i think you are wrong about this addon's offer, it doesn't permit to add the basic Adsense script, it just creates a new position in the page header. You are probably confusing <header> and <head>
