I am still crowdfunding my renewal fee, so I am not sure if XF2.0 is using gettext for their translation.
As of XF1.5, the translation is a pain in the ass, that makes us the translators cannot process strings easily, especially when comes to translation tools. We have used POEdit, Transifex, Onesky, etc to process language translation, and XF is really hard to process, as the tag means literally nothing but just the index of it.
I am hoping to see Gettext being adopted in XF, as it can drastically accelerate the translation process by using existing tools and MTs as a placeholder, for translators to better do their job.
