Gemini reply

Gemini reply [Paid] 1.6

No permission to buy ($35.00)
I have a quick question regarding the configuration. I would like to use Gemini not just for generic replies, but to answer user questions based on my specific forum rules and guidelines (similar to how a "Custom GPT" works).

To achieve this, I need to pass a "System Instruction" or a persistent context to the API along with the user's post. I noticed previous versions might have had an "Instructions" field in the options.

Is there a way to add this custom context in the current version? Or could you point me to the specific PHP file/line where I could hardcode a system prompt so the bot is aware of my forum's specific rules when replying?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Andy,

Thank you for developing the Gemini Reply add-on! I really like the concept, but after some testing, I’ve found that the bot's responses are currently quite inconsistent.

At the moment, the add-on is difficult to use effectively because the AI often misses the mark: it sometimes provides a summary instead of a reply, or responds in a different language than the discussion. To make the add-on more reliable and powerful, I would like to suggest two essential features:

  • System Prompt Option: It would be great to have a field in the admin settings to define a global prompt. This would allow us to tell Gemini exactly how to behave (e.g., "Act as a helpful forum member," "Always reply in the same language as the user," or "Keep responses concise").
  • Thread Context (Full Thread Read): Currently, it seems the bot only looks at the specific message it is replying to. It often loses the flow of the conversation. Adding an option to let Gemini read the entire thread before generating a response would provide the necessary context for a high-quality answer.
Without these options, it's hard for the bot to understand the intent of the discussion. I believe these additions would make your add-on the best AI tool for XenForo.

What do you think? Thanks again for your work!

Best regards,
