Wondering if there is a way that we could change the images in these locations. I'm trying to find my notes or the posts somewhere in how to do this.

I think there is a mod for this and we do have plans to rework this theme in coming weeks adding few new features and we will implement this in next update

Yes we plan to recode this theme responsive once 1.2 version is released, as we expect many template changes in 1.2 and need complete recode.
