Ragtek helped me develop an add-on a couple of monst ago that can turn the "watch thread" feature in xenForo on and off via group permission.
We recently discovered a few more places in the forum where this specific group permission should be applied to for the add-on to function properly.
But now Ragtek told me it won't be possible to remove the "watch thread" information when the user creates a new thread. According to him that's a bug in xenForo.

i can't remove them
if you want, you can create a xenforo suggestion, but i don't believe we'll see any new version in the future...
the bug is, that we're having a function canWatchThread but xenforo isn't checking for it in the output and shows the watch_input to all registered users
