Forum/subforum not working as expected

#1
Hi,

I'm doing some testing with forum and sub forums to see how they work together but I can't get it to work the way I want and the way it works in XenForo's forum.

I will try and explain what I want to achieve with help of the picture below:

forum.jpg

TEST Level 1 is placed under the root. So far, so good. But when I click on the category TEST Level 1 I get this:

forum-subforum_2.jpg

I expected to only see TEST Level 2 and not the sub forums (Level 3) of TEST Level 2. What am I doing wrong here in the configuration? From what I saw in XenForo's forum (http://xenforo.com/community/forums/resource-and-add-on-archive.62/) I only get the sub forums and not the sub sub forums.

Any hints on this one is appreciated!

What XenForo does here is it doesn't create node pages for categories, meaning if you click on a root forum, it takes you to the forum home rather than the view you get (http://xenforo.com/community/#xenforo-resources-and-add-ons.60)

The forum you mentioned has sub forums created inside it, it is not a root level forum it's a forum inside a category (root).

You can do this by going to Admin CP -> Options -> Node and Forum list -> Uncheck Create pages for categories.

Thank you so much. Your suggestion solved my problem. Now when I click on TEST Level 1 I only see the subforums, which is exactly they way I wanted it to be.

Another question on the same subject. When I'm browsing TEST Level 2 I see my subforums:

But I also have the template below for the thread list even though I have chosen not to use TEST Level 1 forum as an actual forum, just as a container. Can I somehow get rid och this part?!
