XF 2.3 Forum Issue - Resolved

Out of the blue users started reporting slowness/“parsing” errors, etc.

I made a couple of test posts and one took like 10 seconds to post and on another I got this:



So, I saw that the add-on signature once might have been a problem and I went into add-ons in the ACP to try and disable it. If I click on the gear icon for any add-on I get the following:



No idea. Do I need to submit a support ticket?

Don't worry about it. We've all been there.


I asked because if you had access to your Admin Panel you could disable said add-0n and hopefully that would have been the end of it.

The signature once add-on, is it this one by any chance?

Allows user signature to be shown only once per thread/conversation or once per page.

I am asking because it says there that it's not compatible with the latest version of XenForo and php. A word of advice, if I may, whenever you install a third party add-on or style, make sure that it's compatible with whatever version of XenForo and php that you are using. Otherwise it will cause issues.

Appreciate the advice. Will definitely pay attention to stuff like this after my first major incident.

Because I didn’t assume a problem would arise that I couldn’t fix for several hours despite claims suggesting otherwise?

Most other hosting companies allow you to have full control over the files

Prob move to self hosted if you want to have control. Else you are reliant on "support".
