If you click on find all content by.. or Find all threads by.. in your profile, you'd expect to find all content. But the search result is limited to 200.

Either the search isn't finding enough, or the phrase is wrong. Its should easy find all content if that isn't what it does.

Does it matter?

Why would you immediately click on older content without first searching through the first 10 pages for the content you are looking for?

I doubt anyone has ever looked through 10 or more pages on a profile.

To find something older than page 10???

Yes I think we just have to accept that there is a difference between the way software developers think and the way that the general public think and interact with it. It's easy enough for me to add a note saying "don't click Next, but click on page 10 and look for a button on the other side of the page to view more"

So how can you guess the content you are searching for is beyond the page 10?
I’ve often found stuff when there is a much bigger page range, e.g. in normal search results

You are correct in pointing out the difficulty in guessing what's on a page you cannot see, and if looking for a date range you'd maybe be better off using advanced search except it doesn't have Find all Threads by... (maybe you can but I just haven't found it yet) NB: I've edited title to include that as it is just as much, or even more of, an issue.

So my main point is that a result as in the above image would be way better in this case than merely showing 10 pages at a time and you have to keep clicking on Older results after clicking on page 10 just in order to to get more pages, and then only 10 at a time. And even then pages 21 - 30 are shown as the 3rd lot of 1 - 10

This is even if you realise how it is supposed to work.

So even though it may be as designed, I still think the awkwardness and complexity of user interface warrants it being a bug. IMO.

I think that for such searches the advanced search is more effective, unless you do not know what you are looking for exactly and therefore perform a search without keywords. However the pagination system from 1 to 10 then 1 to 10 again seems confusing.
