Feedback: Profile posts really confuse people

It is interesting to check new profile posts as it's not something I typically monitor as the admin, probably should, but it's interesting to see how confused community members are with this. They think they are posting to the community (forum) when in fact they are just posting to their own profile. I probably need to address this such as turn this off but it's obviously not being used as intended and seems to really confuse the members as to its purpose. My RV community is more of a senior community, haven't checked my other forums.

I rebranded it as Guestbook, and now they've fell in love with it.

My peeps are confused as well. I was thinking naming it "Your Wall" but never bothered.

Or just disable it using group permissions!
This is what I have done on my forums. It is completely useless and nobody ever missed it.

I call mine Status Updates and people use them, but, not on other people's pages. That has seemed to disappear even on facebook except when it's someone's birthday.

I remember Groups on VB for us it was a complete disaster. However I changed the name to Clubs and boom people started to use them. Hard to tell what name makes things click.

My members like it for short informal posts but they have also been attaching images so I am so happy XF added that.

I did not, but that didn't seem to bother any of my users.
